Plus, a little goes a long way—just one drop can shift your entire state of mind.

BACKGROUND

Vetiver has been used for centuries in Ayurvedic medicine for its cooling, calming, and restorative properties. In India and Sri Lanka, the roots were woven into mats and used in homes to promote relaxation and repel insects. Traditionally called the “oil of tranquility,” it was also used in sacred ceremonies to instill a sense of peace, stability, and spiritual connection. Its historical uses range from perfumery to natural remedies, all rooted in its deeply centering nature.

Vetiver essential oil is steam-distilled from the roots of the vetiver plant, a tall grass native to India.

VETIVER + MOOD

Vetiver is renowned for its ability to soothe stress, reduce anxious feelings, and provide emotional balance. Its grounding aroma calms a racing mind and is particularly helpful for those who feel scattered or emotionally overstimulated.

Diffusing vetiver or applying it topically can support the nervous system, helping to regulate mood and promote a deep sense of calm, even during life’s chaos. This is why many choose to use it in their daily fragrance.

VETIVER + FOCUS

Struggling with mental fog or attention drift? Vetiver can help. Thanks to its high content of sesquiterpenes—powerful chemical compounds that cross the blood-brain barrier—vetiver is especially beneficial for supporting mental clarity, memory, and focus.

These compounds nourish the brain, promote oxygenation, and support alertness, making this oil a favorite for students, professionals, and anyone looking to improve cognitive performance.

VETIVER + SKINCARE

An important ingredient in several Young Living skin care products, Vetiver also helps promote the appearance of an even skin tone when applied topically.

Vetiver essential oil has natural properties that make it especially beneficial for dry, irritated, or mature skin. Its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects help soothe redness and protect against environmental stressors, while its antimicrobial action can assist in calming acne-prone areas without stripping moisture.

Vetiver is also prized for its ability to promote skin regeneration. Rich in scar-healing properties, it supports the skin's natural repair process, helping to fade scars, stretch marks, and blemishes over time. Its earthy, cooling essence makes it a favorite in Ayurvedic skin rituals, especially for balancing pitta dosha, which governs heat and inflammation.

Whether used in serums, balms, or face mists, vetiver offers both therapeutic calm and deep dermal nourishment — ideal for grounding both your skin and senses.

KEY CONSTITUENTS
