About Me
Welcome. I'm Lynne.
People often introduce me as a veterinarian, holistic wellness consultant, or trauma-informed coach. Those descriptions certainly reflect parts of my work, yet they don't really explain what keeps me learning after more than three decades in veterinary medicine.
I've always enjoyed asking why.
That simple question quietly guides almost everything I do. Whether I'm working with a person searching for better health, a horse struggling through fly season, a dog dealing with anxiety, or someone trying to make sense of a difficult season of life, I find myself asking the same question. Why did this happen? More importantly, what else might contribute to the picture that we haven't noticed yet?
Over the years that curiosity led me well beyond traditional veterinary medicine. Nutrition, physiology, herbal medicine, essential oils, Traditional Chinese Medicine, trauma recovery, neuroscience, and functional wellness each opened another door. Rather than viewing those disciplines as competing philosophies, I see them as different windows looking into the same remarkable design. Every field contributes another piece to the puzzle, and every new piece encourages another question.
One observation continues to shape the way I think. The body never works in isolated compartments. Hormones influence mood. The nervous system influences digestion. Nutrition supports every cell. Plants produce remarkable chemistry that interacts with living systems in ways we continue discovering. Animals often reveal subtle changes long before obvious symptoms appear. The more I learn, the more I appreciate how beautifully connected everything really is. Perhaps that's why I enjoy connecting ideas more than collecting facts.
One of my deepest values reaches far beyond medicine.
I hope I never stop learning.
Not simply collecting more information, but allowing new observations to expand my understanding. Every research paper, every thoughtful conversation, every client who notices something unexpected, and every animal who responds differently than anticipated offers another opportunity to learn. I don't feel attached to yesterday's conclusions. I enjoy watching understanding grow because every new insight opens another door that I never noticed before.
Children remind me of this every day. Watch a child learning to ride a bicycle. Wobbling, tipping over, brushing off dusty knees, laughing, climbing back on, and trying again all belong to the adventure. Learning grows through exploration, not perfection. Somewhere along the way many adults begin fearing mistakes or feeling pressure to know every answer before taking the next step. I see learning differently. Curiosity grows best in an atmosphere of grace, where thoughtful questions matter more than perfect answers and where each new discovery simply invites us to keep exploring.
That philosophy shapes the way I work with every client. I don't begin by trying to fit people or animals into a diagnosis or a formula. I begin by listening. Together we look for patterns, ask questions, connect ideas, and consider possibilities that may not seem obvious at first. Sometimes the next step becomes clear very quickly. Other times the path unfolds one thoughtful question at a time. Either way, I believe understanding grows when we remain willing to observe carefully, think critically, and continue learning.
People occasionally ask who I enjoy working with. The answer rarely depends upon age or even the specific challenge someone brings. I enjoy working with curious people. People who sense another piece of the puzzle may still wait to be discovered. People who enjoy learning, who appreciate thoughtful conversations, and who don't mind exploring a question from several different directions before deciding what makes the most sense. Those conversations energize me because they remind me that learning always works best as a shared journey.
If you've found your way here, perhaps you're asking questions too. Maybe you're looking for another perspective on your own health. Maybe you're searching for answers for a beloved horse, dog, cat, or another cherished companion. Maybe you simply want someone who will slow down, listen carefully, and explore the bigger picture alongside you.
If that sounds like you, I think we'll enjoy learning together.
